Other functions covered

  • Pass Template Updates: Modifying the visual design, colors, and logos of digital cards.
  • Dynamic Field Management: Updating which member attributes (e.g., points, tier name) appear on the pass.
  • Certificate Renewal: Managing expiring Apple Developer certificates to ensure pass delivery.
  • Distribution Link Maintenance: Ensuring "Add to Wallet" buttons in emails and SMS remain functional.
  • Barcode/QR Configuration: Troubleshooting scanner compatibility at physical POS locations.

Action description (Example: Updating Pass Design and Dynamic Fields)

  1. Navigate to Digital Wallet Settings: Log in to the TRIFFT Cockpit and go to Settings > Channels > Digital Wallet.

  2. Edit Pass Template: Click Manage Templates and choose between the Apple Wallet or Google Wallet configuration.

  3. Update Branding: Upload a new Logo, Strip Image, or adjust the Background Color to match current brand guidelines.

  4. Configure Dynamic Fields: Select which Member Attributes to display on the pass face (e.g., {{member.points_balance}} or {{member.tier_level}}).

  5. Set Barcode Type: Verify the barcode format (e.g., QR, PDF417, or Code 128) matches your physical scanner requirements.

  6. Manage Back-of-Pass Content: Update the "Back" of the Apple Wallet pass with helpful links, T&Cs, or support contact info.

  7. Add Testing Steps: Use the Send Test Pass feature to deliver a sample card to a test device and verify data rendering and scanner readability.

  8. Enable / Save and Confirm: Click Save Changes; existing passes in members' phones will automatically update over the air (OTA) within minutes.

Ongoing management checklist

  • Certificate Expiry Watch: Check the Certificates tab quarterly to ensure the Apple .p12 file hasn't expired, which would stop new pass issuance.
  • OTA Update Verification: Periodically trigger a point change for a test member to confirm the Digital Wallet pass updates its balance correctly.
  • Scanner Compatibility: Test the digital barcode against updated POS hardware to ensure no "dead zones" or brightness issues.
  • Distribution Flow Audit: Confirm that the "Add to Wallet" deep links in Klaviyo or Bloomreach emails are still resolving to the correct pass URL.
  • Localization Check: Ensure that labels on the pass (e.g., "Points") are correctly translated in the Translations module for multi-language programs.
  • Asset Quality: Verify that strip images and logos are high-resolution (Retina compatible) to avoid blurring on modern smartphones.
