Core contest mechanics

Collecting Points

The member accumulates contest progress until a configured threshold is reached.

Common formats include:

  • Stamp Card — A member receives one contest point for each qualifying action. After reaching the required number of points, a reward or contest entry is triggered and the counter resets.
  • Progress Bar — Progress is based on accumulated value, such as spend. Every time the member reaches the configured threshold, a reward or contest entry is triggered.

Examples:

  • One point after every transaction; reward after five points.
  • One point after every transaction above GBP 50; reward after three points.
  • Reward after every accumulated GBP 200 of qualifying spend.

Collecting Points can use a visual game, or without a game when the reward should be assigned immediately after the threshold is reached.

Random Win

A qualifying action creates an immediate contest opportunity.

This is commonly used for Buy & Win campaigns.

Examples:

  • Every purchase creates one contest entry.
  • Every purchase above GBP 20 creates one contest entry.
  • A qualifying purchase immediately assigns a coupon.
  • A qualifying purchase gives the member a token to play a visual game.

Random Win contests can also use Point Ranges to apply different prize probabilities based on the spend of the triggering transaction.

Contest games

The game is the visual presentation of the contest. It does not replace the mechanic, trigger, probability, stock, or eligibility configuration.

Scratch CardThe member scratches the card on the screen to reveal the result.

Contest triggers

TriggerBehaviorRecommended use
On clickDisplays a button that allows the member to trigger the contest repeatedly.Testing only.
After every purchaseA real purchase transaction triggers or advances the contest.Purchase-based contests.
After Wallet CreditAny credit movement in the member's wallet triggers or advances the contest.Wallet-credit-based contests.
⚠️

On click should only be used for testing. It allows the member to trigger the contest repeatedly and is not suitable for a production campaign.

Prize probability and stock

Each prize can have:

  • A percentage probability.
  • Optional limited stock.
  • An optional prize image.

When stock is unlimited, the stock restriction remains disabled. When stock is enabled, enter the maximum number of available units.

If a limited prize runs out, its probability moves to Losing. It is not automatically redistributed among the remaining prizes.

Example:

ResultProbabilityStock
Prize A50%10
Prize B50%Unlimited

After all ten units of Prize A are awarded, the resulting distribution becomes:

ResultProbability
Prize B50%
Losing50%
